Australia’s Catholic bishops have expressed grave concern at the humanitarian crisis that is continuing to worsen in Northern Iraq. 
They condemn outright the use of terrorism in the name of religion.

INTERCHURCH CRIMINAL JUSTICE TASKFORCE:
‘I was in prison and you visited me’ – Christians and the criminal Justice System. 
The Interchurch Criminal Justice Taskforce has developed a series of proposals on criminal justice issues from a Christian perspective. 
These are included in a new report “I was in prison and you visited me”, copies of which are available in the church, or you can go to www.css.org.au and download a copy.
It is important for all of us to play our part to build a society that is just and fair.

THE TRUTH, JUSTICE AND HEALING COUNCIL (TJHC):
TJHC has been established by the Church to represent dioceses and congregations before the Royal Commission into Institutional responses to child sexual abuse. The Catholic Church will be the focus of a public hearing in December when Towards Healing will be examined. Church entities are also likely to be the subject of public hearings in 2014.

COMMUNITY OF THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD:
The Community is a public association of the Faithful. It was founded in Italy by Fr Divo Barsotti in 1947. The Comunita’ is a monastic community in the world, desiring to assist all people in truly becoming the sons and daughters of the Church, in order to achieve the universality of the Church’s mission.

PADRE PIO PRAYER GROUP:
A prayer group at St Anthony’s Shrine, 182 Power St, Hawthorn meets every Wednesday with a Novena Mass at 7.00 pm
There is a Holy Hour 1st Thursday of the month at 7.00 pm.
TEAMS FOR MARRIED COUPLES:
‘Teams’ is a movement which helps married people develop couple spirituality through practices compatible with the busy lives they lead today. A team consists of about five couples who gather monthly in each other’s homes for a simple meal, prayer and discussion. Where possible, the inclusion of a priest or religious is mutually beneficial. Each team is a small Christian community in which the members support each other in living out their Christian values. ‘Teams’ provides the opportunity for couples to find balance in their lives for personal growth, growth as a couple and mutual support among couples.
