Our New Resurrection Wall
On the last Sunday of November our parish priest, Fr Des, led more than 100 parishioners from the 11.00  am Mass at Immaculate Conception Church to our new Resurrection Wall, in the south-west corner of the church garden. All gathered there for the blessing of the Wall as a sacred place to remember, pray for and commune with our deceased loved ones.
The first of a series of plaques with names commemorating the dead have been placed on the Wall. The scripture quotation which surmounts one side of the Wall reads: “I am the Resurrection and the Life. Those who believed in me, though they die, will live”. In this quiet corner of the garden, a gentle waterfall creates a tranquil atmosphere where people can sit and pray.
After the blessing the congregation prayed in honour of their deceased loved ones: “Father, we thank you for their love and companionship on earth, and for their continuing care and protection of us from heaven”.
